Introduction: Indian Government announced the Globalisation policy in July, 1991 with the main aim of increasing the standard of living of the country people and putting the country s economy in the right direction. As a part of the structural adjustment of the policy, opening the gateways of Indian economy, one of the largest economies in the world, to the world in every sphere, be it trade, investment and allowing the multinational companies to make profit in the country, was essential. Now the question arises - What does this term GLOBALISATION actually stand for? Globalisation refers to opening the economy of a particular country to the world by removing protective barriers against trade, technology and investment among countries. According to E.Paradee, globalisation is an ongoing process, and the process of globalisation, has been taking place for sometime in the field of financial markets, trading etc.(S. E. Paradee, 1988). According to Malcom. S.Adiseshiah, globalisation generally means that both the production process and institutions associated with production of a given commodity as well as its sales and distributions are no longer limited to one country but cover several countries. For instance, the parts of a particular commodity may be manufactured in several countries and yet assembled in another, but the commodities produced in different countries may depend on their cost advantage over others and cover almost all parts of the globe.
